OCEAN PINES, MD - On November 27, 2024, an Ocean Pines man was arrested for assaulting an on-duty Ocean Pines Police officer. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Timothy M. Price, reportedly swung at the officer and struck the officer in the chest during a heated altercation.

The altercation occurred when Ocean Pines Police responded to a call about a medical situation at a residence in the 100 block of Ocean Parkway in Ocean Pines, Maryland. Price was verbally abusive and uncooperative with the Ocean Pines Police.

During the escalating interaction, Price allegedly took a swing at one of the officers, striking the officer in the chest. Following the Assault, Price was immediately apprehended and taken to the Ocean Pines Police Department.

After being processed at the police department, Price was presented before the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance. Subsequently, he was charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree.

Despite the serious allegations of Assault on a police officer, and even though, according to the Maryland Judiciary Case Search, Price has been arrested and/or charged several times and, most of the time, did not appear in court when ordered to do so, Price was still released on a $5,000 unsecured personal bond.

The decision from the District Court Commissioner means that Price can avoid serving time in jail until the trial by promising in writing to appear in court for all subsequent proceedings.
