Ocean City, MD - The Ocean City Department of Tourism is thrilled to begin a year-long celebration in honor of the Town's 150th Anniversary in 2025. This milestone is being commemorated with exciting events and monthly initiatives designed to engage the community and visitors.

This month, the Tourism Department launched the "150 Reasons to Smile" social media campaign, where the Ocean City social media page will post regularly throughout the year, celebrating 150 things that make us smile. "The 150 Reasons to Smile campaign aims to highlight the things that make Ocean City a beloved destination to visit or to call home," commented Ocean City Tourism & Business Development Director, Tom Perlozzo. "We hope the campaign encourages our residents and visitors to share their favorite memories and experiences, showcasing the rich history and vibrant community that define Ocean City."

In addition to the social media campaign, Ocean City will be celebrating the third annual Dreamfest, featuring four diverse performances beginning on Thursday, January 16. The weekend will feature the comedy tour Bored Teachers, phenomenal music by Morgan State University Choir, Who's Bad - the Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience, and the 50th Anniversary of "Why Can't We Be Friends" - An Evening with WAR.

Along with the incredible weekend of shows, the 150th Anniversary "Mobile Museum" exhibit will be displayed at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center. This unique 150th Anniversary activation will change monthly to provide an array of educational and inspiring stories of Ocean City's past.

The January Mobile Museum will be dedicated to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by honoring the contributions and stories of the Black community in Ocean City.

Finally, Ocean City Tourism will kick off the "Dine, Shop & Playmonthly specials to celebrate the 150th Anniversary, featuring promotions and discounts at participating shops and restaurants. "The Dine, Shop and Play" promotion is a great way to get our business community involved in our anniversary celebrations," Perlozzo continued. "Each month gives an opportunity for the business to offer our residents and visitors a new anniversary surprise so keep an eye on our website at www.ococean.com/150 for more details."

This month's "Dine Around" highlight is Bayside Skillet, offering a gift card special throughout January. Local shops will also feature exclusive 150th-anniversary deals. For January's "Play" event, join us for Tourist Day at the Convention Center, where families and friends can enjoy a day of fun games and activities.

"Ocean City's 150th Anniversary is going to be special, as we have planned many amazing events, activities, and various promotions that will be happening throughout the year," Perlozzo finished. "From the '150 Reasons to Smile' campaign to Dreamfest and our 'Shop, Play, Dine' initiatives, we're celebrating everything that makes Ocean City such a special place-our rich history, diverse culture, and the strong spirit of our residents and visitors."

As a reminder, Ocean City's "Book Early and Save" promotion is still available. Book your accommodations by February 28, 2025, to enjoy exclusive early bird specials at participating hotels. Don't miss this chance to plan your 2025 getaway with significant savings.
