OCEAN CITY MAN CHARGED WITH DUI AND DRUG POSSESSION IN REHOBOTH BEACH

Rehoboth Beach, DE - On March 26, 2025, at approximately 12:22 a.m., law enforcement stopped a Ford F-150 driven by 38-year-old Joseph Mutzafago from Ocean City, Maryland, due to a registration violation in the vicinity of Rehoboth Avenue and Second Street in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer determined that Mutzafago was under the influence of alcohol.
Further investigation revealed that he was in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Given that Mutzafago has two prior DUI convictions, this latest offense has been classified as a felony.
Mutzafago has been charged with the following offenses:
- 3rd Offense Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (Felony)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Misdemeanor)
- Expired Temporary Registration (Traffic Misdemeanor)
- Failure to Destroy an Expired or Invalid Temporary Registration Plate (Traffic Misdemeanor)
- Failure to Have a Driver's License in Possession (Traffic Misdemeanor)
A warrant was issued for these charges, and Mutzafago was released on his own recognizance pending his arraignment, which is scheduled for a later date.
