The incident occurred on January 13, 2025, at approximately 5:32 p.m. A Suzuki GSXR 750 motorcycle was spotted heading north on Coastal Highway near Old Landing Road, occupying the rightmost lane.

Unexpectedly, the motorcyclist overtook an unmarked Delaware State Police Chevrolet Tahoe in the middle lane, proceeding to navigate daringly between two other vehicles by riding over the dashed lane markings.
