MARYLAND STATE POLICE NEED THE PUBLICS HELP WITH A FATAL CRASH IN SALISBURY
Salisbury, MD - A pedestrian accident has claimed the life of a man in Wicomico County, and Maryland State Police are urgently appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The incident took place on Nanticoke Road, near Willow Creek Drive, in Salisbury, Maryland, and involved local resident, Briece Antwoine Joynes, a 42-year-old man from Fruitland, Maryland.
Tragically, despite all efforts made by TidalHealth Peninsula Regional medical staff, Mr. Joynes succumbed to the injuries sustained from the accident.
The initial alert to the authorities came from a motorist who noticed something on the road at around 3 AM on Friday, Feb. 16, 2024. The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office was the first to arrive at the accident scene, and began the investigation.
Maryland State Police investigators believe that the suspect vehicle was heading west on Nanticoke Road when the disaster took place.
As part of their ongoing investigation, the Maryland State Police Crash Team - the unit leading the efforts to uncover the circumstances surrounding this tragic event - are keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity between midnight and 3:20 AM on Friday, February 16, 2024.
They are particularly interested in any witnesses to the crash, or anyone who observed any unusual or suspicious vehicular activity around the time.
Information, no matter how trivial it may seem, could be vital in the investigation and in serving justice.
