MARYLAND STATE POLICE INVESTIGATING FATAL SHOOTING IN WICOMICO COUNTY
Salisbury, MD - A fatal shooting is currently under investigation by Maryland State Police. The incident happened early Sunday morning in Wicomico County and authorities are seeking information from the public to help solve this case.
Officers from the Salisbury Police Department were called to the parking lot of a local business in the 700 block of E. Naylor Mill Road, at approximately 2:30 a.m. following reports of a shooting.
The victim of the tragic incident has been identified as Franklin Abraham Perez Rodriguez, 23, a resident of Miami, Florida.
According to preliminary findings, Rodriguez was involved in a physical altercation with an unidentified male. During the conflict, the unknown male drew a firearm and shot Rodriguez, subsequently fleeing from the scene.
Rodriguez was rushed by ambulance to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital, however, was sadly declared deceased upon arrival.
Salisbury Police have handed over the investigation of Rodriguez's murder to Maryland State Police homicide detectives.
As of now, no arrests related to the incident have been made.
