MARYLAND STATE POLICE INVESTIGATING CRASH IN CAROLINE COUNTY

Federalsburg, Maryland-The Maryland State Police are investigating a crash in Caroline County early on Monday, May 13, 2024.

As initially reported on Eastern Shore Undercover, a crash on Route 318 and Pepper Road happened at around 6:40 a.m. Troopers from the Easton Barrack arrived and began their investigation. 

Maryland State Police Aviation flew the driver of a 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, Maryland so that he could receive medical attention for his injuries. 

In addition, the driver of a 2016 Jeep Compass was transported by air to Christiana Hospital in Delaware to receive medical attention for her wounds. 

Preliminary research indicates that the Ram was trying to pass a group of about six cars while driving west on the shoulder of Route 318. The Jeep, which was heading east on Route 318, was then struck by the Ram.

The investigation remains under investigation.
