MARYLAND STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH IN QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY

Queen Anne's County, MD - Maryland State Police are diligently investigating a fatal pedestrian crash in Queen Anne's County that occurred in the early hours of the morning. The identity of the pedestrian involved is yet to be released, pending notification of their next of kin. Tragically, the individual was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the passenger vehicle involved in the incident remained uninjured and stayed at the scene following the collision. The accident occurred just after 6 a.m., prompting an immediate response from troopers stationed at the Maryland State Police Centreville Barrack.

The incident unfolded in the vicinity of Maryland Route 213 and Maryland Route 544. It was reported that, for reasons yet to be determined, the pedestrian traversed the roadway and was unfortunately struck by a passing vehicle.

In the wake of the incident, all north and south lanes were temporarily shut down for an estimated duration of 2 hours to facilitate the ongoing crash investigation. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration provided indispensable assistance in managing the road closure.

The investigation is currently active and in progress, as authorities continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate event.
