MARYLAND STATE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING FATAL PEDESTRIAN CRASH IN WORCESTER COUNTY
Worcester County, MD - Maryland State Police have confirmed they are investigating a tragic pedestrian accident that took place in Worcester County. The victim, Carolyn Melissa Long, 49, hailing from Berlin, Maryland, tragically lost her life at the scene, as confirmed by the emergency medical services personnel.
At approximately 10:15 p.m. on November 2, 2024, the Berlin Barrack troopers responded to reports of a crash on the northbound Maryland 611 and Landing Blvd. in Berlin. Following a preliminary investigation, it was revealed that Long was walking north on Route 611 when she was hit by a 2011 Toyota Sienna.
Driver and the lone occupant of the vehicle, Christopher Lee Miller, 69, also a resident of Berlin, was interviewed by the police and was subsequently released. The police are looking into the possibility of alcohol being a contributing factor to this tragic incident.
The charges, if any, will be based on the findings of the ongoing investigation. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading this investigation.
