MAN BREAKS INTO RESIDENCE AND ASSAULTS JUVENILE FEMALE

Cambridge, MD - On January 29, 2024, at approximately 10:10 am, Cambridge Police Department Officers responded to the 800 block of Hambrooks Ave in Cambridge, Maryland in reference to a physical disturbance.  

Upon arrival, officers met with a male subject who was identified as Ja'Sire Lavontae Kane (19 years old of Cambridge, MD).  Kane informed officers that he had assaulted a female subject and had grabbed her by the throat.  Officers detained Kane, while other officers contacted the victim and other witnesses.  

It was reported to officers that Kane had broken into the residence through a window and assaulted a juvenile female subject and held her down on the ground.  

Kane was placed under arrest and transported to CPD for processing and his initial appearance before a Court Commissioner.  Kane was later turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on No Bond.  Kane was charged with the following:
