MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT BY POKING VICTIM IN THE EYES
Cambridge, MD - On April 28, 2024, at approximately 9:37 am, Officers from the Cambridge Police Department responded to the 800 block of Phillips St in reference to a call for a physical disturbance.
Cambridge Police Officers met with both parties who were involved in the altercation. The victim reported that the altercation occurred over comments made, which resulted in the suspect, Omar Jajuan Emory Godwin (24 years old of Cambridge, MD), assaulting the victim by poking them in the eye.
Officers observed signs of injury consistent with what the victim was reporting.
Godwin was placed under arrest and transported to CPD for processing and his initial appearance before a Court Commissioner. Godwin was released on his personal recognizance.
Godwin was charged with the following:
- Assault 2nd Degree
All parties in this report are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
