LOCAL RESTAURANT SERVER CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE OFFENSES RELATED TO USING CUSTOMERS CREDIT CARD
Bethany Beach, DE - A man from Ocean City, Maryland faces multiple charges related to identity theft, following an investigation by the Bethany Beach Police Department. The suspects' charges result from fraudulent activity identified at a popular locale, Ropewalk Restaurant in Bethany Beach, Delaware.
On October 20th, 2024, an incident of fraud was reported by a victim who noticed unauthorized charges on her credit card. The charges originated from the Ropewalk Restaurant, located at 107 Garfield Pkwy in Bethany Beach, Delaware. The investigation led by the Bethany Beach Police Department later revealed that the victim was not the only one affected by this crime.
Further inquiries from the department discovered that four additional acquaintances of the original victim, who had eaten at the same establishment, also had their payment card details misappropriated.
It was confirmed that their server, Ezekiel J. Narcise, aged 26, had recorded the card details from four out of the five payment cards utilized for their meals, and then used them for his own personal needs.
Upon gathering sufficient evidence, the Bethany Beach Police Department issued an arrest warrant for the incident that took place on October 20, 2024.
Ezekiel J. Narcise turned himself into the Bethany Beach Police Department on November 10th, 2024. He then appeared for arraignment on 12 separate charges tied to identity theft and fraudulent use of payment cards.
The charges against Mr. Narcise include 4 counts of Identity Theft, which is classified as a Class D Felony. Other charges include one count each of Theft $1,500 or Greater and Unlawful Use of Payment Card Over $1,500, both Class G Felonies. Mr. Narcise also faces three counts each of Theft Under $1,500, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Use of Payment Card under $1,500, another Class A Misdemeanor.
