LOCAL FIREFIGHTERS BATTLED OVERNIGHT STRUCTURE FIRE IN HEBRON
WICOMICO COUNTY, MD-A structural fire occurred in the overnight hours of September 11, 2024, in Wicomico County, causing considerable property loss. The incident happened at 1:41 A.M. in the 500 block of N Main St, Hebron, Maryland.
The Hebron Volunteer Fire Department swiftly responded to the alarm, and thirty firefighters were deployed to the scene. They managed to gain control of the flames within 30 minutes, preventing further damage to the surrounding area.
The fire originated from the interior of a second-floor bedroom and is believed to have been caused by a juvenile playing with fire. It resulted in an estimated loss of $100,000 to the structure and a further $50,000 loss of contents.
The family living at the property discovered the fire. In the wake of this unfortunate incident, they are currently receiving assistance from family members and the American Red Cross.
