LAUREL POLICE INVESTIGATING BANK ROBBERY AT FULTON BANK

Laurel, DE - On July 29, 2024, the Laurel Police Department made a public announcement that an incident occurred at the Fulton Bank, 30204 Sussex Highway, in Laurel, Delaware. The following is an update to the investigation as it stands at this time.

On July 29, 2024, at approximately 9:28 a.m., Laurel Police Department units were dispatched to the Fulton Bank regarding a robbery alarm activation. It was soon determined that the suspect had already fled the area, and units secured the scene to conduct an investigation.

The initial investigation revealed that a black male subject had entered the bank and presented a demand note to one of the tellers. After receiving an undisclosed amount of US currency, the suspect fled on foot toward Discount Land Road. Immediately prior to the robbery, during a canvass of neighboring businesses, officers also discovered that the same suspect shoplifted from the Dollar General next door to the bank.

The male is believed to be in his 40s, approximately 5'8"-5'10", wearing a large white T-shirt over an off-white T-shirt, light gray long shorts, a red flat-brim cap with a black bill and green/yellow/red marijuana leaf logo, and white shoes with black soles. The suspect also reportedly had a Haitian Creole accent.
