LAUREL POLICE ARREST MAN ON DRUG OFFENSES FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP
Laurel, DE - On June 14, 2024, at approximately 9:01 pm, an officer from the Laurel Police Department was on patrol and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Little Creek Apartments after observing a traffic violation.
During the course of the traffic stop, the driver was observed to be in possession of a box with small plastic bags that appeared to contain illegal drugs inside. The driver was detained without incident for further investigation.
During a search, the box was found to contain several individually packaged small baggies of crack cocaine packaged for sale. An additional two larger bags were found within the vehicle, along with suspected drug proceeds.
The driver was identified as Heriberto Ortiz-Bedolla (24) of Laurel, DE, and transported to the Laurel Police Department for the following charges:
- Possession with Intent to Deliver Tier 2 Quantity Crack Cocaine (Class C Felony)
- Possession of Tier 2 Quantity Crack Cocaine (Class E Felony)
- Traffic Violations
Ortiz-Bedolla was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on $20,001 unsecured bail.
