LAUREL MAN ARRESTED FOR HIS 6TH OFFENSE FELONY DUI

Laurel, DE - Delaware State Police have arrested 57-year-old Jeffrey Marvil of Laurel, Delaware, on charges including a 6th offense felony DUI and other related traffic offenses.
The arrest occurred on March 13, 2025, at approximately 12:34 p.m., when a trooper on patrol observed a black Chevrolet pickup truck traveling westbound on Camp Road in Laurel, Delaware. The truck was noted for carrying an unsecured load of wood and metal in its bed and driving slowly.
A routine computer check also indicated that the vehicle's registration was fictitious.
The trooper conducted a traffic stop and approached the driver, later identified as Jeffrey Marvil. During the interaction, the trooper noticed signs of impairment and administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST).
Following the tests, Marvil was taken into custody for suspected driving under the influence.
A search of Marvil's person and vehicle revealed 19 Losartan Potassium pills and 2 Gabapentin pills. Marvil did not possess valid prescriptions for these substances.
A background check conducted during the investigation determined that Marvil has five prior DUI-related convictions, and his driver's license had been revoked.
Marvil was transported to Troop 5 and subsequently charged with the following offenses:
- 6th Offense DUI (Felony)
- Possession of a Prescription Drug Without a Prescription
- Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription
- Driving While Suspended or Revoked
- Fictitious or Cancelled Registration
- Operating an Unregistered Vehicle
- Additional traffic violations
Marvil was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution under a $10,404 cash bond.
