Kent County, MD - On March 1, 2025, a structure fire ravaged a 12' X 16' shed on Harrington Park Road in Rock Hall, Kent County, Maryland.

At around 10:22 P.M. that evening, the property owner discovered a chair engulfed in flames within the shed. In an attempt to mitigate the situation, Murphy tried removing the burning chair from the structure.

Unfortunately, this resulted in severe burn injuries to both his hands and face. Murphy's quick response led to an alarm raised with the local fire department.

The Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company arrived at the scene and managed to control the fire within 30 minutes.

A total of 34 firefighters responded to the scene to control and extinguish the blaze.

Despite their impressive efforts, the structural damage caused by the fire is estimated to be around $25,000.

Murphy was airlifted to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center by MSP Aviation Command for immediate treatment of his burn injuries. The cause of the fire still remains unknown and is currently under investigation.
