JUVENILES SET PORTABLE TOILET ON FIRE AND VANDALIZE MULTIPLE PROPERTIES
Cambridge, MD - On June 13, 2024, Rescue (Cambridge) Fire Company (Station 1) was dispatched to the 400 block of Linden Avenue, Cambridge, Maryland, for a fire. Rescue (Cambridge) Fire Company (Station 1) was the primary responding unit, consisting of eight brave firefighters who managed to control the situation in approximately 10 minutes.
The fire started in a portable toilet, which was an extension of a residential structure. Thanks to the efficiency and promptness of the fire department, the fire was quickly extinguished. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
That said, the fire still resulted in a significant loss. The property suffered an estimated loss of $50,000.
A passerby initially spotted the fire. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the cause of the fire was incendiary. The culprits behind this act appear to be four to five juveniles residing in the same area.
In addition to setting the fire, these juveniles also vandalized multiple properties in the neighborhood using spray paint.
As of now, arrests are pending as the investigation continues.
