JUVENILE INJURED ON SATURDAY EVENING IN LAUREL DELAWARE SHOOTING

Laurel, DE - On Saturday, December 7th, at approximately 6:09 PM, the Laurel Police Department was dispatched to a shooting in the 200 block of the Hollybrook Apartment Complex in Laurel, Delaware. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a single juvenile victim who suffered a gunshot wound to the arm.


Officers provided emergency medical aid to the juvenile victim until EMS arrived. Once EMS arrived, they took over and eventually transported the victim to Tidal Health for medical treatment.


According to the Laurel Police Department, after their investigation, they determined that the suspect was 14-year-old male from Laurel, Delaware. The juvenile male fled the scene prior to officers' arrival.


Attempts were made to locate the suspect with negative results. A warrant for the arrest of the suspect has been completed for the following charges:


- Assault 1st Degree (Class B Felony)

- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Under 18 (Class D Felony)

- Aggravated menacing (Class E Felony)

- Reckless endangering 1st degree (Class E Felony)


As stated above, the suspect is still at large and is considered to be armed and dangerous. If anyone has contact with this subject, they are urged to immediately contact law enforcement and not approach him.
