Queen Anne's County, MD - On the afternoon of April 11, 2025, a fire broke out in the 100 block of Dogwood Court in Millington, Queen Anne's County, Maryland, involving a Sunline Solaris Camper Trailer.

The fire was determined to be caused by an accidental electrical failure and resulted in significant damage to the property, with an estimated loss of $10,000.

The incident was discovered by the occupant, who was transported to the University of Maryland Medical Center in Chestertown, Maryland. Fortunately, her injuries were non-life threatening. One of the owner's pet dogs, alerted her to the fire, which possibly prevented a much more serious injury.

Although she attempted to extinguish the fire, she was ultimately unable to contain it. She managed to escape the burning trailer with some of her pets; unfortunately, two of her pet cats remain missing.

The Crumpton Volunteer Fire Department, along with additional assisting agencies, responded quickly, deploying 40 firefighters who were able to control the blaze within 15 minutes.

The owner of the trailer is currently receiving support from her family and the American Red Cross as she recovers from this ordeal.
