Cambridge, MD - On March 1, 2024, at about 1:31 pm, Cambridge Police Officers were alerted to multiple shots fired on the 800 block of Phillips St, as indicated by the "Shot Spotter Alert". Upon arrival, officers noted several houses and a damaged vehicle from the gunfire.

Investigators identified evidence of multiple caliber handguns being used, including 9mm, 10mm, and 45 calibers. Based on witness statements, it is believed that four individuals took part in the incident, and a white vehicle with DE tags was seen leaving the scene.

The Cambridge Police Department's K9 Unit performed a track, which led to Allen St. It was then established that the suspects had left the scene in the same white vehicle.

Further information indicated that a white vehicle was noticed on Willis St, from where four male subjects exited, all dressed in dark clothing, with one sporting blue latex gloves.

Deputies from the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office (DSO), who were present on Greenwood Ave, found the individuals in an apartment on the 500 block of Greenwood Ave.

Two of the individuals were later seen leaving the apartment and returning towards Greenwood Ave, where they were spotted by the arriving Cambridge Police Department Officers and Detectives.

A chase ensued as one male subject attempted to escape on foot after ditching a handgun on the ground. The pursuit ended with the subject's apprehension in the 500 block of Greenwood Ave, with the assistance of the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office. This discarded Glock-20 10mm handgun was confirmed as stolen from Harford County, Maryland.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Isaiah David Foster from Cambridge, MD, was restricted from possessing a firearm due to previous convictions.

Foster was taken to the Cambridge Police Department for processing and initial court appearance. He was remanded into custody of the Dorchester County Department of Corrections with no bond.

Charges against Foster include Illegal Possession of a Firearm, Handgun on a Person, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Resist Arrest, and Obstruct and Hindering.

The incident necessitated a high law enforcement presence on Greenwood Ave, causing Dorchester County Public Schools to reroute bus traffic.
