Caroline County, MD - On September 14, 2024, at approximately 5:44 P.M., a shed fire occurred in the 27000 block of Stafford Road, in Marydel, Caroline County, Maryland. The fire, which rapidly engulfed an 8' X 14' wood-framed, detached shed, took a mere ten minutes for firefighters to control, but not before causing an estimated loss of $1,000.

The primary response team to this unfortunate incident was the Marydel Volunteer Fire Company. Six firefighters responded to the alarm and efficiently got the fire under control, preventing further damage to nearby properties.

The fire's origin has been traced back to the shed's exterior. Preliminary investigations suggest the cause to be accidental, specifically from discarded smoking materials.
