FIREFIGHTERS IN DORCHESTER COUNTY BATTLED AN OVERNIGHT FIRE ON HILLS POINT ROAD

Dorchester County, MD - On January 14, 2025, at approximately 11:31 PM, a fire broke out at a property located in the 800 block of Hills Point Road in Cambridge, Dorchester County, Maryland. The fire occurred in an apartment situated within a storage garage.

Firefighters from the Neck District Volunteer Fire Department were the primary responders. A total of 35 firefighters from this department, along with assistance from neighboring fire departments, managed to control the fire within an hour. The response was initiated after a neighbor discovered the flames and alerted the authorities.

While the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, it is known that the flames originated from within the property's interior.

The estimated structural damage is around $12,000, while the value of the damaged or destroyed contents is approximately $50,000.
