Salisbury, MD - On October 10, 2024, at 5:13 AM, local firefighters were dispatched to a working structure fire at the PNC Bank, located at 1512 South Salisbury Boulevard in Salisbury, Maryland.

Thirty brave firefighters from the Salisbury Fire Department and assisting agencies worked tirelessly to get the situation under control within 30 minutes, preventing what could have been an even more disastrous event.

The Fire Marshal's Office reports that no smoke detectors or fire sprinklers were installed at the location.

The financial loss was significant. The fire ravaged the property, leading to an estimated structural loss of $50,000. The fire also largely consumed the bank's contents, which were reportedly worth approximately $100,000.

The security alarm system and a customer who happened to be around at the same time first detected the fire. The origin of the fire was traced back to the secured ATM room, which also contained IT equipment.

The bank branch is closed at this time due to the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The local law enforcement agencies are working diligently to uncover the mystery behind this fire.
