FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE SUNDAY NIGHT VEHICLE FIRE IN DORCHESTER COUNTY

Rhodesdale, MD - On July 14, 2024, at approximately 10:37 PM, the Eldorado-Brookview Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to the 5000 block of Rhodesdale Eldorado Road, Rhodesdale, Dorchester County, Maryland, for a Peterbilt dump truck that caught fire.


The fire resulted in an estimated loss of $40,000, a sizable blow to the vehicle's owner. The truck owner discovered the fire, which is believed to have originated from the dash of the vehicle. After a detailed examination, the reason for this alarming event was found to be accidental, caused by an electrical failure.


A team of 15 brave firefighters, the Eldorado-Brookview Volunteer Fire Company arrived at the scene and managed to bring the fire under control within just ten minutes, preventing further losses and potential harm to nearby structures.
