FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE MONDAY EVENING FIRE ON HINMAN LANE

Wicomico County, MD - A significant residential structure fire occurred on January 13, 2025, at approximately 4:28 P.M. in the 1000 block of Hinman Lane in Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland.


The single-story mobile home, measuring 1,000 square feet, suffered extensive damage, with total losses estimated at $100,000-$50,000 for the structure and an additional $50,000 for its contents. The fire was discovered by one of the two occupants, who were inside the home at the time.


Thankfully, both individuals managed to escape safely. However, they were displaced due to the fire and are currently receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.


The Salisbury Fire Department, along with several other fire departments, responded promptly with a total of 45 firefighters who battled the flames. It took approximately one hour for them to gain control of the situation and extinguish the fire.


The fire is believed to have originated inside the structure, but the preliminary cause remains undetermined and is currently under investigation.
