FIREFIGHTER INJURED IN SALISBURY HOUSE FIRE
Wicomico County, MD-On Saturday, June 1, 2024, at approximately 6:20 PM, a devastating fire broke out in a rancher-style, single-family home located at 26914 Pratt Road in Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland, causing significant damage to the property.
The primary responding fire department was the Hebron Volunteer Fire Company, which received the initial alert from a vigilant neighbor. Thirty-five firefighters from around the area were quickly deployed to the fire scene.
When firefighters arrived, despite their best efforts, the blaze had already caused severe damage to the structure and its interior. It took them approximately 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.
Unfortunately, a 25-year-old firefighter sustained injuries during the incident. He was immediately transported to Tidal Health, where he is currently receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
The estimated loss, including the damage to the structure and its contents, is currently projected at $100,000, with $75,000 associated with structural damage and $25,000 related to the loss of contents.
