FIRE MARSHAL'S OFFICE NEEDS YOUR HELP WITH SUSPICIOUS IN-GROUND POOL FIRE

Talbot County, MD - In the early hours of April 17, 2025, a fire broke out at a vacant property located in the 31000 block of Skipton Cordova Road in Cordova, in Talbot County, Maryland. The incident was reported at 12:07 A.M. and involved an in-ground pool owned by Monarch Development LLC.


The fire is believed to have been intentionally set and caused an estimated $5,000 in damages to the structure. Fortunately, the blaze was quickly brought under control within 20 minutes by six firefighters from the Cordova Volunteer Fire Department, with assistance from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office. Thankfully, there were no injuries associated with the incident.


A neighbor discovered the fire, and reports indicate that multiple individuals were seen fleeing from the property at the time of the blaze.
