FIRE MARSHAL'S OFFICE IS INVESTIGATING A DUCK BLIND FIRE IN A DORCHESTER COUNTY

Dorchester County, MD - On the evening of March 3, 2025, a fire broke out in the marsh areas of Hoopersville Road, south of Ferry Bridge on Hoopers Island, Dorchester County, Maryland.

The fire, which is currently under investigation, erupted within a 40 square-foot wooden duck blind.

The blaze was reportedly discovered by a passerby, with the Hoopers Island Volunteer Fire Company being the primary response team. The estimated loss due to structural damage is pegged at $2,000.

The fire, ignited in the interior of the duck blind, did not spread beyond the immediate area of the structure.
