EASTON HIGH SCHOOL ASSAULT UNDER INVESTIGATION

Talbot County, MD - An assault at Easton High School in Talbot County is currently under investigation. The incident took place on September 10, 2024, at approximately 12:06 PM and led to the arrest of two juvenile students.


The Talbot County Sheriff's Office was alerted to the incident by the School Resource Officer (SRO) at Easton High School in Easton, Maryland. After the deputies launched an investigation into the incident, in conjunction with the school administration and the Talbot County State's Attorney's Office, two students were identified as the suspects, and they have since been arrested.


The incident, which occurred inside the school, resulted in two victims - one staff member of Easton High School and one juvenile student, being assaulted. The student victim was transported to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries by the Talbot County Department of Emergency Services.


Following the incident, the suspects were arrested and taken to the Talbot County Sheriff's Office for processing. Charges include First-degree Assault, second-degree Assault, and Reckless Endangerment, among other related charges.


The Department of Juvenile Services will be contacted to decide on the release disposition for both suspects. Easton High School went into a brief lockdown during these events as a safety precaution.
