Easton, MD-On July 8, 2024, a devastating fire destroyed a detached garage in the 29000 block of Corbin Pkwy in Easton, Talbot County, Maryland. The Easton Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident, battled the fire, and successfully controlled it in approximately one hour.

The detached garage was a 14' x 21' wood-framed structure, and the property was a total loss as a result of the fire. A passerby first noticed the garage engulfed in flames and quickly alerted the occupants of the main residence.

The financial loss as a result of the fire was substantial. The garage structure and its contents, which included a motorcycle and various tools, suffered an estimated $50,000 in damages.

Due to the severity of the fire and the garage's close proximity, the main residence and a neighboring house sustained damage.

As the cause of the fire remains under investigation, the authorities are encouraging anyone with information regarding this fire to contact the Upper Eastern Regional Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal at 410-822-7609.
