DSP ARRESTS GEORGETOWN WOMAN FOR HER 7TH OFFENSE FELONY DUI

Georgetown, DE - The Delaware State Police have arrested 44-year-old Ginger Velasquez (Timmons) from Georgetown, Delaware, for a 7th offense felony DUI and related traffic violations. The arrest took place in the early morning hours of April 15, 2025, at approximately 3:18 a.m. A patrol officer observed a Chevrolet Cruze with an improperly displayed license plate driving east on Wilson Hill Road near Downs Road.


After pulling the vehicle over, the officer interacted with Velasquez and detected a strong smell of alcohol on her breath. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted, leading to her arrest for driving under the influence. A background check revealed that Velasquez had six prior DUI convictions.


Following her arrest, Velasquez was taken to Troop 4, where she faced charges including a 7th offense DUI and improper display of a license plate. After being arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, she was released on a $7,001 unsecured bond.


This incident underscores the ongoing issues surrounding repeated DUI offenses and highlights the importance of road safety and compliance with traffic laws.
