DELAWARE STATE POLICE MAKE FELONY ARREST FOLLOWING ASSAULT ON LINCOLN RESIDENT
Seaford, DE - Delaware State Police have successfully apprehended and charged 19-year-old Seaford resident Jordan Morris with three felony offenses following a violent altercation that took place last month in Lincoln, Delaware.
In the early morning of February 23rd, 2024, at approximately 12:52 a.m., local police were called to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of Holly Drive East in Lincoln, DE. It wasn't long before troopers discovered that an argument had led to a local resident being struck by a vehicle allegedly driven by Jordan Morris.
The victim, a 25-year-old man from Lincoln, had been visiting a relative at the residence in question when the incident occurred. Police reports state that Morris and an unidentified passenger arrived loudly at the scene in a Ford Fusion.
After a dispute over the noise generated by Morris, an argument escalated. As Morris and his passenger began to leave the scene, he threatened to return and harm the relative of the victim.
As the confrontation continued, Morris allegedly drove directly at the victim, striking him with the vehicle. He then fled the scene in an unknown direction, leaving the victim critically injured and requiring hospital treatment.
The State Police tracked down and arrested Morris on March 6, 2024, following an extensive investigation. Upon arrest, Morris was transported to Troop 4 for processing and subsequently faced charges of Assault First Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, and Conspiracy Second Degree - all of which are classified as felony offenses.
Morris was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and has since been committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution, with a cash bond set at $122,000.
