DELAWARE STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE CHRISTMAS DAY FATAL HIT-AND-RUN CRASH
Lincoln, DE - Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run motor vehicle crash that took place in Lincoln, Delaware, on Christmas Day. The crash occurred early in the morning at approximately 3:30 a.m. on December 25, 2024.
A Toyota Tundra was heading northbound on Cubbage Pond Road, drawing close to the intersection at Johnson Road. Simultaneously, a pedestrian was making his way along the same road. The Toyota hit the pedestrian and continued heading northbound, leaving the accident scene. The vehicle was later discovered abandoned on Johnson Road.
The victim of this tragic accident, a 29-year-old male from Milford, Delaware, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Out of respect for the family, the victim's identity is kept confidential until his relatives are informed.
Following the incident, Cubbage Pond Road was closed from Johnson Road to Flea Town Road for three hours. During this time, the Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the crash and made efforts to clear the area.
The search for answers continues, and the investigation is still in progress. The Delaware State Police are appealing to the public, asking anyone who might have witnessed the accident or possesses valuable information to come forward.
