DELAWARE STATE POLICE CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE A HOMICIDE IN SEAFORD, DELAWARE

Seaford, DE - The Delaware State Police are actively investigating a tragic incident that occurred yesterday in Seaford, Delaware, claiming the life of a young man. The events unfolded in the late afternoon at Nutter Park, a popular local venue.
On March 12, 2025, at approximately 4:24 p.m., local authorities received reports of a shooting at Nutter Park, located at 712 Collins Avenue in Seaford. Law enforcement officers from both the Seaford Police Department and the Delaware State Police promptly responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a distressing situation-a 23-year-old man from Seaford was found suffering from significant gunshot wounds. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by the officers, the man was transported to a nearby hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
In consideration of the family's privacy, his identity is being withheld until proper notifications can be made.
In addition to the deceased, two other men, aged 19 and 21, sustained gunshot wounds but managed to self-transport to a local hospital. Fortunately, their injuries have been deemed non-life-threatening. A third 23-year-old man is also receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries related to the shooting.
Given the seriousness of the situation, the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation from the Seaford Police Department.
Preliminary findings indicate that a large altercation occurred, during which unidentified suspects opened fire, leading to this tragic outcome.
