DELAWARE STATE POLICE ATTEMPTING TO LOCATE SHOOTING SUSPECT

Frankford, DE - Delaware State Police Detectives are actively investigating a recent shooting incident which occurred in Frankford, Delaware. The investigators are urgently seeking public assistance in locating the identified suspect, 18-year-old Kelvin Wescott from Seaford.


The incident took place on February 2, 2025, just after lunchtime. Troopers were promptly dispatched to the 28000 block of Gum Tree Road in Frankford following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered that a 41-year-old man had been shot.


The victim was initially transported to the Frankford Fire Company and was later moved to a nearby hospital due to the severity of his injuries.


According to the preliminary investigation, an argument had broken out between the victim and another man at a local residence. In the aftermath of the argument, the victim was shot, and the shooter left the scene hastily.


The detective's investigative efforts have since identified the shooter as Kelvin Wescott, who is now being sought in connection with the incident.


This ongoing investigation is under the purview of the Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit. The detectives are urging anyone with information pertaining to Wescott's location to contact 9-1-1 or Troop 4 at (302) 856-5850 immediately. Detective R.
