DELAWARE STATE POLICE ARREST MARYLAND MAN FOR SUSSEX COUNTY HOME IMPROVEMENT FRAUD

Sussex County, DE - Delaware State Police have arrested 26-year-old Dylan Crew from Westminster, Maryland, for home improvement fraud following multiple investigations.
Beginning in October 2024, Troop 4 Financial Crimes Detectives initiated an investigation into Crew, who operated under the business name Coastline Contractors Group, LLC. During the investigation, detectives discovered that Crew had signed contracts with six victims for residential renovations and other construction projects. He received over $1,000,000 in payments, but none of the projects were completed.
Detectives obtained warrants for his arrest, and on March 13, 2025, Crew voluntarily turned himself in at Troop 4. He was charged with the following crimes, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on a $132,000 unsecured bond:
- Home Improvement Fraud by False Impression of $100,000 or More (Felony) - 3 counts
- Home Improvement Fraud by False Pretense of $1,500 or More (Victim Over 62 or Impaired/Disabled) (Felony) - 2 counts
- Home Improvement Fraud of $1,500 or More (Felony)
- Theft Where Property Value is $100,000 or More (Felony) - 3 counts
- Theft of $1,500 or Greater (Victim Over 62) (Felony)
- - Theft of $1,500 or Greater (Victim Over 62 or Impaired/Disabled) (Felony)
- Theft of $1,500 or More (Felony)
Detectives are asking anyone who may have been defrauded by Crew in a similar manner to please contact the Troop 4 Financial Crimes Unit by calling 302-856-5850.
