Ellendale, DE - Delaware State Police have arrested Leon Leager, a 39-year-old resident of Ellendale, Delaware for multiple charges including theft, in connection with a couple of camper van thefts reported earlier in the month.

As per details disclosed by the police, the officers initially responded to a theft report on January 12, 2025, from the 10000 block of Blacksmith Shop Road in Greenwood. The property owner reported that two pull-behind campers had been stolen over the course of two days, prompting a thorough investigation by the troopers.

On January 10, a 28-foot Keystone Kodiak camper was reportedly stolen by an unidentified individual driving a mystery black pickup truck from the same property. The following day, a similar incident occurred where a 32-foot Prowler camper was also reported missing.

Through diligent investigation and hard work, Detectives could identify and point out Mr. Leager as the suspect behind these thefts. Further investigation led to the recovery of the stolen Prowler camper, which unfortunately had sustained some damage following the theft.

The police are, however, yet to recover the stolen Keystone Kodiak camper. They have requested for the public's assistance in providing any valuable information that might lead to its retrieval.

Leager was arrested on January 15, 2025, and taken to Troop 4 for processing. He was charged with several crimes including Burglary 3rd Degree (Felony), two counts of Theft of a Motor Vehicle (Felony), Criminal Mischief amounting to $5000 or more (Felony), Theft under $1,500, Criminal Mischief under $1,000, and Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree.

Following his arraignment by Justice of the Peace Court 2, Mr. Leager was subsequently released on an unsecured bond of $10,150. As the investigation continues, the Delaware State Police are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of the missing camper to come forward.
