Georgetown, DE - Delaware State Police have arrested 24-year-old Lester Alcantara of Bridgeville, Delaware, in connection with a burglary at a residence on Widgeon Road in early March.

On the night of March 1, 2024, troopers were alerted to the break-in, where they discovered that an intruder had forced entry into the home through a bedroom window. Several household items were found to be displaced, and a sum of money had been stolen.

The crime scene investigation by troopers resulted in the recovery of latent fingerprints at the scene.

Through their investigation, detectives identified Lester Alcantara as the burglary suspect and quickly secured a warrant for his arrest. On March 29, the Seaford Police Department located and arrested Alcantara, who was subsequently handed over to Troop 4 of the Delaware State Police.

The arrest for the warrant was only the start of some more significant legal issues for Alcantara. While in custody at Troop 4, he was found to have approximately thirty-one Oxycodone pills concealed inside his belt.

As a result, he was charged with additional offenses. After his arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 3, he was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $5,000 secured bond.
