DELAWARE STATE POLICE ARREST 16-YEAR OLD FOR ROBBERY IN GREENWOOD

Greenwood, DE - The Delaware State Police recently arrested a 16-year-old male from Greenwood, Delaware, for multiple felonies. This followed a robbery that occurred in Greenwood. The youth's arrest came about after a well-coordinated police investigation of a robbery.


On December 18, 2024, the police received a report of a robbery on Mile Stretch Road in Greenwood, Delaware. The victim, also a 16-year-old, had planned to buy a dirt bike from a familiar face, the suspect. The process required the victim to drive the suspect to the location where the dirt bike was. During this trip, the suspect revealed a firearm.


On reaching the destination, the suspect grabbed the victim's money and fled. Thankfully, the victim was unharmed. The police were quick to respond, and after a thorough search, they located the suspect. He was found on Newton Way, where he was taken into custody following a minor confrontation.


The subsequent search revealed the stolen money and a loaded 9mm handgun, previously reported stolen in March 2024. The suspect was then transferred to Troop 5.


After being charged with multiple crimes, he was presented before the Justice of the Peace Court 3. Currently, the suspect is held at the Stevenson House Detention Center, with a cash bond set at $69,000.
