DELAWARE STATE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING FATAL PEDESTRIAN CRASH AT WALMART

Rehoboth Beach, DE - The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on the morning of March 31, 2025, in the parking lot of Walmart, located at 18922 Rehoboth Mall Boulevard in Rehoboth, Delaware.


According to preliminary investigations, at approximately 7:58 a.m., a Dodge Ram was backing onto the sidewalk in the Walmart parking lot to load mulch.


At the same time, a 66-year-old pedestrian from Rehoboth Beach was standing behind the vehicle, intending to guide the driver during the maneuver. While backing up, the vehicle struck the pedestrian, pinning her against the building.


The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of her family.


The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 76-year-old man from Rehoboth Beach, did not sustain any injuries during the incident.


The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is actively investigating the crash. Authorities are requesting assistance from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
