DELAWARE STATE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING FATAL BICYCLE CRASH

Seaford, DE - The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that took the life of a 3-year-old bicyclist in Seaford, Delaware.


On August 15, 2024, at approximately 7:45 p.m., a Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on a gravel road between North Parkway Road and South Parkway Road in the community of Mobile Gardens. At the same time, a 3-year-old child was riding a bicycle in the middle of North Parkway Road.


The preliminary investigation revealed that the Tacoma turned southbound on North Parkway Road, and the front of the Tacoma hit the child.


The 3-year-old child from Seaford, Delaware, was taken to an area hospital by family members, where they tragically passed away. Their name is being withheld until all family members have been notified. The driver of the Tacoma, a 56-year-old woman from Seaford, Delaware, was not injured.


North Parkway Road was closed for approximately 4 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
