DELAWARE MAN FOUND TO BE IN POSSESSION OF ILLEGAL NARCOTICS FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP

Kent County, MD - A resident of Millington, MD, was identified as a wanted individual following a traffic stop. Cpl. A. Freeman conducted the stop for a traffic violation on Sassafras St. at Cypress St. in Millington.
During the stop, one of the vehicle's occupants, Barry Dean Reece, was found to be wanted by authorities for failing to appear in the Worcester County District Court.
A narcotics detection K9 unit was summoned to the scene. Cpl. M. Piasecki and his K9 partner, Dracco, performed a thorough scan of the vehicle, leading Dracco to alert the team to the suspected presence of narcotics inside.
After a search conducted by Cpl. Freeman, Reece was found in possession of suspected controlled dangerous substances (CDS) and related paraphernalia. Consequently, he was issued criminal citations for narcotics possession.
Regarding his previous failure to appear in the Worcester County Court System, Reece was initially held but was later released after posting a cash bond.
