DELAWARE MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING THE SHOOTING OF HIS WIFE AND STEP-SON

Lincoln, DE - On September 8, 2024, at approximately 6:48 a.m., the Delaware State Police were called to a residence at the 23000 block of Deep Creek Drive in Lincoln, Delaware, for a report of a shooting. This incident was initially reported on the Eastern Shore Undercover social media pages.


The suspect of the shooting, later identified as 52-year-old Nicholas Mosley, had reportedly fled from the scene before the arrival of the troopers.


Upon arrival, the troopers were met with the unfortunate sight of two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Swift action was taken to perform life-saving measures until medical assistance arrived.


The two victims, a 43-year-old woman, and a 20-year-old man, were immediately rushed to local hospitals. While the woman remains in critical condition at the trauma center, the man's injuries were non-life-threatening.


A short time later, the suspect, Nicholas Mosley, turned himself in at Delaware State Police Troop 7. This led to his arrest by Delaware State Police Homicide Detectives.


The investigation further revealed that tragically, the victims were related to Mosley as his wife and stepson. The incident happened during an escalated disagreement. There were three other family members present at the residence at the time of the shooting however, they were physically unharmed. The subsequent investigation revealed that Mosley, a convicted felon, was prohibited from possessing a firearm.


Nicholas Mosley is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution. He faces several serious charges including Attempted Murder in the First Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Aggravated Menacing, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony amongst others.

-Update 9/11/2024: On September 9, 2024, Denise Mosley, the victim in this incident, passed away as a result of her injuries from the shooting. The suspect, Nicholas Mosley, remains at Sussex Correctional Institution. Updated charges are pending.
