CRISFIELD MAN ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE COUNTS OF CHILD ABUSE AND SEX OFFENSES

Somerset County, MD - In an ongoing investigation led by the Somerset County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) Criminal Investigation Division (CID), Felipe Rodriguez, 38, of Crisfield, Maryland, was arrested on June 11th, 2024. The arrest came after an extensive investigation into the alleged abuse of two minors, an ordeal that reportedly began in 2017 and continued until the time of his arrest.

Rodriguez has been charged with numerous serious offenses, including two (2) counts of first-degree assault and two (2) counts of first-degree child abuse, which resulted in severe physical injury. He is also facing two (2) counts of aggravated assault - second degree, two (2) counts of second-degree child abuse regarding a household member, and various counts of sex offenses and sex abuse against minors.

The suspect had his initial appearance with a District Court Commissioner and has since been transferred to Somerset County Detention Center, where he is being held on no bond. The investigation remains actively ongoing, with authorities stating their belief that these horrific acts were committed against the victims multiple times over the identified time period.
