CRASH ON E-BIKE CLAIMS THE LIFE OF DAGSBORO, DELAWARE MAN

Sussex County, DE - A devastating crash occurred Saturday night in Dagsboro, Delaware, that claimed the life of a 79-year-old resident who was riding an Ancheer E-Bike. The Delaware State Police, who are currently investigating the incident, have released the details of the accident.

On the evening of November 2, 2024, at 6:14 p.m., a terrible collision occurred on Dupont Boulevard, a primary thoroughfare in Dagsboro, Delaware. A 2016 Ford F-150 and an Ancheer E-Bike were both traveling southbound on Dupont Boulevard.

The e-bike rider tragically attempted to cross Dupont Boulevard at Cricket Street, placing him directly in the path of the Ford F-150. Sadly, the driver of the truck was unable to avoid hitting the e-bike, and the two vehicles collided in the left southbound lane.

The rider of the e-bike, a 79-year-old man from Dagsboro, Delaware, tragically lost his life in the accident. The man's name remains unreleased pending notification of his family. The driver of the Ford F-150, a 46-year-old Frankford resident, thankfully did not sustain any injuries in the accident.

Following the accident, Dupont Boulevard was closed off for around four hours to facilitate further investigation and clearing of the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, led by the Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit.
