Wicomico County, MD-County Executive Julie Giordano is proud to announce and congratulate the first two recipients of Wicomico County's Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund. This new initiative is part of the county's commitment to strengthening community resources and promoting healing and growth through targeted investments in organizations that serve vulnerable populations.

The first two recipients are:

Recovery Resource Center

The Recovery Resource Center will implement a Peer Navigator's Program, hiring three Certified Peer Recovery Specialists. These specialists will offer critical peer support to individuals in the early stages of recovery, focusing on identified tiers where the need is greatest. This program aims to provide consistent guidance, encouragement, and assistance to individuals as they navigate the challenges of early recovery.

The Child and Family Center

The Child and Family Center will launch a program to conduct comprehensive assessments and interventions for children from the identified tiers who have or are at risk of experiencing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). This initiative is dedicated to addressing and mitigating the effects of these experiences, promoting resilience, and enhancing long-term well-being for at-risk youth in Wicomico County.

"We are thrilled to support the Recovery Resource Center and The Child and Family Center as the first beneficiaries of the Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund," said County Executive Julie Giordano. "These organizations are doing invaluable work to improve the lives of individuals and families in our county, addressing recovery and childhood adversity in ways that will positively impact our community for years to come. By investing in programs like these, we're creating a healthier, more resilient Wicomico County."

The Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund was established to support initiatives that address key challenges in our community, including mental health, recovery, and family support services. The county looks forward to continuing this important work and supporting additional organizations committed to the well-being of all residents.
