COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE SOUGHT IN ERNEST JONES JR HOMICIDE CASE

Cambridge, MD - The Cambridge Police Department is requesting the assistance of our community, to come forward with any information that could assist in the ongoing investigation of the murder of Ernest Jones JR. 

This tragic event unfolded on August 30, 2020. Information that you may have, could prove invaluable to the investigation and to bringing the perpetrator to justice.

On Sunday, August 30, 2020, at 4:52 pm, Cambridge Police Department Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Pine St in Cambridge, Maryland. They were responding to a medical call in collaboration with Dorchester County EMS. 

The victim they found was Ernest Jones JR, 54 years of age and a resident of Cambridge, Maryland.  Mr Jones was unfortunately found with injuries aligning with a stab wound. 

It was determined that he had succumbed to these injuries before the arrival of the EMS.

A thorough examination and investigation led the Cambridge Police Department to rule Mr. Jones's untimely death as a Homicide. 

From that moment, the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has been tirelessly working on this case, aiming to bring solace to Mr. Jones's family and friends, and assure justice is served.

The CID is now appealing to the community, the vigilant citizens of Cambridge, for aid in this investigation. Information that you may have, could prove instrumental in resolving this case, leading to an arrest, and ensuring justice.
