Salisbury, Maryland - The City of Salisbury is on alert as a significant snowfall is predicted to hit the shore on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. The city officials are strongly urging the residents to take necessary precautions for the safety of the community as the storm approaches.

The City's Fire Department, Police Department, Field Operations, and Water Works teams have been mobilized and are ready to respond to any potential emergencies that this storm might cause.

In the meantime, residents are encouraged to stay attentive and make efforts to stay safe amid the approaching inclement weather.

The city strongly advises that residents prepare in advance by stocking up on essential supplies such as medications, groceries, and emergency provisions. For those living on designated snow emergency routes, it is critical to move your vehicles to make way for the city's snow removal operations.

Moreover, property owners are being reminded to remove snow from sidewalks and around fire hydrants to maintain accessibility for pedestrians and emergency personnel.

For people whose commute cannot be avoided, it is crucial to be aware that winter driving conditions may be risky. All motorists are therefore being advised to exercise caution, reduce their speed, and winterize their vehicles.

It is also recommended to maintain a full tank of gas, ensure that windshield wipers are working, and keep an emergency kit containing items such as blankets, flashlights, and non-perishable snacks in your vehicle.

Business and property owners are also encouraged to contribute to pedestrian safety by clearing their sidewalks of snow. They are asked to promptly clear a path that is at least four feet wide and apply salt or sand to prevent ice accumulations. The city also invites residents to help out any neighbors who might need assistance with snow removal.

In addition, the city reminds residents to consider their pet's safety during these harsh weather conditions and urges them to bring their animals indoors when possible. For pets that are primarily outdoors, make sure they have access to a warm, dry shelter and plenty of food and water.

The City of Salisbury will continue to provide updates as the situation develops through their official media channels, including the city's website and social media platforms.
