Salisbury, MD - The City of Salisbury rings in the New Year with an eco-friendly initiative, announcing their curbside Christmas tree collection service starting January 6, 2024. The Department of Field Operations will be at the helm, collecting discarded Christmas trees as part of their regular yard waste routine.

Residents can effortlessly contribute to the green initiative by scheduling a pickup during normal business hours (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.), simply by dialing 410-548-3177. The process aligns closely with the traditional yard waste pickup arrangement, assuring residents of a streamlined and familiar procedure.

For those unable to make a call during business hours, the City of Salisbury accommodates with an online form, accessible at Salisbury.md/YardWaste. Completing this quick and straightforward form, followed by a click on 'submit', ensures your tree is queued for prompt collection.

To help expedite the composting process, the city requests residents to leave trees unbagged and fully stripped of lights, tinsel, decorations, and stands before positioning them curbside. They also stress on the importance of not using trash cans or recycle bins for tree disposal.

This initiative is not only a convenient service to the residents of Salisbury but also a step towards creating a cleaner, more sustainable city. The City of Salisbury extends their thanks to its community members for their contribution to this noble cause with the hope of fostering a greener future.

Kickstart your new year by being a part of this eco-friendly initiative.
